The diesel engines in these pick ups and SUVs are strong, but they dislike short journeys, and particulate filters, injectors and oil dilution follow. Timing chains and belts are interval items on some and known faults on others. Each package says which. The L200 is a working pick up whose 4N15 diesel is tough and whose chassis wants cavity wax on a vehicle that sees salt.
