Coils, plugs, sensors and the parts that make the engine run cleanly. Turbo cars eat plugs and coils faster than non turbo cars, and the correct heat range matters. The GT86 and GR86 share their FA boxer engine and chassis with the Subaru BRZ, which widens the parts supply and keeps prices sensible.

Fitting

Labour guide: about 1 hour. Japanese manufacturers change parts by build date and by market, and grey imports add a second layer to that. Send the VIN or chassis number with the order and we confirm the part against the build data before anything is dispatched. For imported cars send the chassis plate, because the UK registration will not tell us enough. We are an independent parts specialist for Japanese cars. Which version to buy

OEM is the same part made by the factory supplier, in that supplier's box. Identical in practice and usually 25 to 40 per cent cheaper than genuine. Uprated is a stronger or revised specification for cars that are driven hard, tracked or tuned. Genuine is in the manufacturer's own packaging with the manufacturer's number on it. Worth it for warranty work and a car with full dealer history.
